While my parents were visiting, we had dinner with their friends at a hweh restaurant in Flushing called Chung Hae Jin. You get all this for $80
- sashimi, mae-woon-tang, hong hap tang (mussel soup), donkatsu, bibim naengmyun, ojinguh bokkeum, tempura, jook, kimbab and so much more.
Yes $80 for EVERYTHING, not per person.

good bargain but was it good?
WOW. All that for $80?! Was this a dinner special or was it ordered a la carte? Anyhow, great deal! =)

my ummah/ahbah & in-laws look at me like i’m crazy… then jeff, my hubby just says… she always does that
yeah, the portions seem small
but it looks like a lot of fish, which can make up for it.
omg…. makes me want to eat korean food now…
hehe these people don’t know the ways of the flushing restaurants… all you order is the sushi… everything else comes out for FREE!!!

wow. that’s a deal. esp since it’s in the nyc area… i think i paid $80 for kalbi for 2 and soon dubu at that shilla restaurant on 32nd street. it was pricey but now i feel ripped off! and it was o.k. not super fabulous like the kalbi houses in l.a.

thats amazing
the sashimi looks delicious
haha my dad loves hwejip deals. i’m drooling right now.
HS, that’s a lot of food for eighty bucks. That could fend off the munchies of eight drunkards.
That first bowl, speaking strictly as a rednecked hauley blanco, looks like something you would have gotten in the musical “Oliver Twist”, they called it gruel, erm grewl…. 0.o
damn…wish i could go visit that place!!!
pre-tty good deal. i think i’ve been to chung hae jin..
You’ve got to be kidding?! Looks so good!
it’s a great bargan but was the food good??

oh they have those places in pal park! its a good deal and its good!!! yum!
I moved to PA 2 years ago. I miss that restaurant.
wow. looks amazing! where in flushing?
oh my, there is enough seafood there to make this more expensive. i think most people would be happy paying around $120 for this. how many people ate??
Now that’s a deal…!!!
it’s good there
we were all so full from eating there, we didn’t have any leftovers. Great for family get togethers. Food was great. Right off Northern Blvd by the old movie theatre. I think it’s 159th street. Somewhere around there.
been there. it’s pretty good.
hi there. i came across your awesome website – LOVE IT! thanks so much. yes, i’ve been there and can’t wait to go back. my family of 4 went all out and got the $140 meal and can i say OMG!!! this place is to die for!
oh yummm~ i miss those places in korea where they bring out so many dishes you need a mile long table to fit it all. thanks for the inside info and i’m def. going the next time i’m in flushing.
i love you
mmmmmm delicious – i may have to try when i take my parents to new york
haha my bf and i go to a hweh jib in flushing at least once a month if not twice….chung hae jin and i think the other one’s dong hae soo san (f.k.a. northern northern) but i could totally be making the name up…the sad thing is our eyes are bigger than our stomach and our bill always comes out to at least $80 for the two of us. there’s another one that’s cheaper and still really good on springfield blvd if you’re ever in the area!
WoWzOrZ!!! All that for $80!!! Yummy!!! I wish I could get that bargain here!
thats some korean dank…
I so feeling that..
great pictures..
I going to hit it up soon..

if it’s the one i am thinking of, it’s on northern blvd near 164th st (approximately). it’s across the street from nam oh jung, a popular kalbi place. it’s also next to the old quartet movie theatre (which was a rite aid for a short period of time but is now closed), for the true old skool queenz heads.
i love this place. the portions are appropriate for the amount of food they give you. the sushi is fresh, albeit the cuts are clearly done by koreans – big and fat.
this has nothing to do with cooking but….
South Korea 2 Togo 1
woO hoO…!!!
My mouth is watering. That spread looks so delicious!
i dunno wut brand to get for sesame oil
soooo hungry!!!!!
I definitely gotta go there…
Do you happen to know what street it’s on?
I haven’t seen any recipes for a while. I’m sad
i went to chung hae jin in flushing this week and found the whole meal a bit overwhelming (too many dishes all at once) and nothing too particularly delicious. some of the dishes were different from the ones you posted and the price was much higher than $80. a medium portion of sashimi was $89.99, tax not included.
that is soooooo yummmy!!!!
i want korean food now ^.^
